CSHR & the University of Miami launch a report on child safeguarding in the FIFA World Cup 2026

At the Global Entertainment and Sports Law + Industry Conference, hosted on April 3rd by the University of Miami School of Law, the Centre for Sport & Human Rights launched in partnership with the University of Miami School of Law Human Rights Clinic the executive summary report "Keeping the game safe: addressing child safeguarding, gender-based violence and human rights in the FIFA World Cup 2026".

Authored by student legal interns Natalie Hollander, Víctor Alvarado Graterol, and Juliana Monroy; and edited by the Clinic's Director, Caroline Bettinger-Lopez and Katie Hanna, the report underlines key learnings from past mega-sporting events, existing legislative and institutional frameworks, and recommendations for safeguarding children and preventing gender-based violence at the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026.
