This report presents recent action on human rights topics across the global sport ecosystem with the aim to take stock, observe developments, note emerging practices, and contribute to identifying areas where there is still work to do and actors to engage. It is published as a draft for consultation with the purpose of canvassing feedback from across the sport and human rights movement, to identify gaps and include further illustrations of emerging practices and developments over time.
This is the second public report issued by the Centre for Sport and Human Rights (CSHR) as part of an ongoing strategic review initiated in 2024. The first report, “Going the Distance”, recapped CSHR’s own activities over the 2021-24 period. This report has a much wider scope. Across 35 clusters it highlights more than 300 examples of how a broad range of actors involved in sport are now somehow addressing or engaging with human rights issues.
