Statement on the conflict in Israel and Palestine

We at the Centre for Sport and Human Rights have watched with deep concern the ongoing conflict in Israel and Palestine and the resulting widespread suffering of innocent people. Recognising the historical context and long standing grievances, as well as the urgency of the current humanitarian crisis, we join the international community in calls for an immediate ceasefire and adherence to international law.

We stand ready to support constructive dialogue and joint action with all actors in the sport community committed to addressing the conflict's impacts on athletes, coaches, officials, journalists, and their families, and to fostering the role of sport in seeking a peaceful resolution and aid in recovery efforts for those affected.
